Harvested at perfect ripeness Petite Verdot has intense purple colour. 400kg of fruit was fermented with indigenous yeast and hand plunged in a small open topped vat. The grapes were left to macerate to extract maximum tannin and colour and then run off to seasoned French oak barrels and left to slowly mature for more than three years. This slow maturation has softened the tannins, integrated the spirit while extracting lovely spice and vanilla oak influences. The colour has developed into typical tawny and ruby hues. This wine shows a complex bouquet, silken texture, and exquisitely balanced sweetness.
