Our Cumulus Méthode Traditionelle Blanc de Blanc with zero dosage, is a return to natural authenticity. The grapes were hand harvested and whole bunch presssed from our clone 6 Chardonnay planted in 1991. This Chardonnay clone has been specifically selected for its citrus freshness and light elegant structure on the palate. Cumulus exhibits a fine and persistent bead with creamy brioche aromas from time on yeast lees in the bottle and is elegantly dry in style.

The whimsical brainchild of third generation Beatrix Ham, Beatrix Sparkling Rosé is a personal passion project. Merlot grapes were harvested early at optimal ripeness for sparkling wine. Our vineyard has the perfect climate and soil for growing Merlot. Only free run and light press juice was used, ensuring a perfect balance of freshness and weight. A quintessential favourite that can be enjoyed all year round.

The Batten Chardonnay
The fruit for The Batten Chardonnay was harvested from the best parcels of Clone 15 grapes. Handpicked and whole bunch pressed the juice was transferred to 100% French oak barriques and puncheons, 46% new. Lees stirring took place for several months to increase the palate weight and roundness. The Batten is powerful and complex yet balanced, showing golden peach, baked fig, spicy oak and vanilla characters. The palate has excellent concentration with a very long sumptuous and layered mineral finish.

The Wingwalker Viognier
Viognier has the narrowest of windows to harvest the fruit at optimal flavour, sugar and acidity. The best flavours come right at the end of ripening and can dissipate quickly if left too long, luckily our Viognier is located right next to the winery. Fermented with selected yeasts that maximise aromatic potential in Viognier, then matured on light yeast lees for a fuller smoother mouthfeel. An enticing bouquet of floral aromas, freesia and marzipan, along with peach and apricot. A dry finish, complemented by soft acidity and long lasting flavours. It's delightful as an aperitif and an enjoyable compliment to your seafood, white meats and vegetable dishes.

The Aviatrix Semillon
The Aviatrix is a textual and moreish experience made with a gentle hand and a non-interventionist approach. The aromas hint of star jasmine and zesty meyer lemon, the palate has lemon curd and white fleshed nectarine. There is a creamy complexity from time on lees in barrel, coupled with brulee and toffee notes typical of Semillon. Wild fermentation gives this subtle and long lived dry white wine a flint gunsmoke edge. Cellaring will reward the Semillon fan.

The Navigator Red Blend
A stylish Hawke's Bay blend that has chartered our way, a wine with a strong character and a strong following. Blended from the best blocks from our estate, we use a variety of clones, each block fermented then matured in oak barrels as stand alone parcels. After 12 months initial maturation, each barrel was tasted and scored with only the best making the cut for The Navigator. Softly concentrated with deep and dense aromas of plush red fruits, cocoa, spice and cedar, the palate is medium-full bodied with rich and succulent flavours. The long finish and fine tannins make this an ideal accompaniment for your beef dishes, richly flavoured foods and cheeses. Merlot 34%, Cabernet Sauvignon 31%, Cabernet Franc 19%, Malbec 16%

The Barnstormer Syrah
Grapes were picked in several passes from our estate vineyard to obtain a range of ripeness levels and to add complexity. The grapes were gently destemmed and lightly crushed to purpose built red fermentation tanks. This is an aromatic Syrah, medium bodied with flavours of dark berry fruits black olive and savoury tones. French oak imparts spice and vanilla. Soft supple tannins and a lingering finish make this an excellent food wine. Barnstormers were dare devil stunt pilots who roamed the country side in the roaring twenties, bringing aerial excitement to a public thirsty for this wild new thrill.

The Fox Moth Merlot
A blend of two individual parcels of Merlot from the vineyard, each parcel fermented, then matured in barrel separately. Fruit from older vines contribute depth and richness to the wine, while fruit from younger vines give vibrancy and beautiful colour. Individual barrels were selected for this wine based on quality of texture and tannins. Wonderfully expressive and beautifully fruited, medium-full bodied with dark red plums, chocolate, boysenberry and savoury tones. A lovely expression of the variety offering excellent drinkability. Soft supple tannins and a lingering finish make this an excellent food wine ideally suited to red meat dishes and those causal pizza and pasta dinners.

Lavished with care and attention in the vineyard, we’ve let the exceptional grapes take centre stage in the winemaking process. The 2018 vintage gave us the opportunity to pick Syrah grapes with unparalleled flavour and balanced acidity. The grapes were gently destemmed and lightly crushed to open top red fermentation vats. Soft velvety tannins give way to a generous but balanced palate and a long, lingering finish. Young and vibrant now but cellaring will reward the patient Syrah lover.
