The lithe Skybolt is a captivating combination; its a biplane with an open cockpit and wooden wings, built for aerobatics. Equally captivating is The Skybolt Chardonnay. The organic fruit for The Batten Chardonnay was harvested from the best parcels of Clone 15 grapes. Handpicked and whole bunch pressed the juice was transferred to 100% French oak barriques and puncheons. The Batten has a luxurious palate, powerful and complex, yet balanced and elegant. Delivering caramel and toffee with roasted peach flavours, the palate is completed by a very long sumptuous and layered mineral finish with hints of nutmeg.

The Wingwalker Viognier
Viognier has the narrowest of windows to harvest the fruit at optimal flavour, sugar and acidity. The best flavours come right at the end of ripening and can dissipate quickly if left too long, luckily our organic Viognier is located right next to the winery. This hand picked vintage has an enticing bouquet of floral aromas, mango and gardenia, along with apricot and orange blossom. A dry finish is complemented by soft acidity, round mouthfeel, and long-lasting flavours.

The Fox Moth Merlot
A blend of two individual parcels of organic Merlot from the vineyard, each parcel fermented, then matured in barrel separately. Fruit from older vines contribute depth and richness to the wine, while fruit from younger vines give vibrancy and beautiful colour. Individual barrels were selected for this wine based on quality of texture and tannins. Wonderfully expressive and beautifully fruited, medium bodied with dark red plums, chocolate, boysenberry and savoury tones. A lovely expression of the variety offering excellent drinkability.

The Barnstormer Syrah
Grapes were picked in several passes from our estate vineyard to obtain a range of ripeness levels and to add complexity. The grapes were gently destemmed and lightly crushed to purpose built red fermentation tanks. This is an aromatic Syrah, medium bodied with flavours of dark berry fruits black olive and savoury tones. French oak imparts spice and vanilla. Soft supple tannins and a lingering finish make this an excellent food wine. Barnstormers were dare devil stunt pilots who roamed the country side in the roaring twenties, bringing aerial excitement to a public thirsty for this wild new thrill.

The Navigator Red Blend
A single vineyard Hawke's Bay blend that has chartered our way, a wine with a strong character and a strong following. Blended from the best blocks from our Bridge Pa vineyard, each block fermented then matured in oak barrels as stand alone parcels. After 12 months initial maturation, each barrel was tasted and scored with only the best making the cut for The Navigator. Softly concentrated with deep and dense aromas of plush red fruits, cocoa, spice and cedar, the palate is medium-full bodied with rich and succulent flavours. The long finish and fine tannins make this an ideal accompaniment for your beef dishes, richly flavoured foods and cheeses. Merlot 34.1%, Cabernet Franc 33.7%, Cabernet Sauvignon 26.3%, Malbec 3.1%, Petit Verdot 2.8%. Cellar up to 2029.
